The
Limón REAL Project
A new Hong Kong is in the making. The Limón REAL Project will
transform the Costa Rican province of Limón into an island of
prosperity through a framework of principles that will allow
the reign of the free market and maximum personal liberty.
Conceptually, Limón REAL is very similar to the free trade
zones that already exist in Costa Rica. The difference is that
instead of favoring just a few firms, the project will benefit
the region’s entire population. The project, which should be
completed in four years, will not only solve Limón’s
problem of unrest and poverty by providing a fast track to
prosperity, it will also provide economic relief and benefits
to the rest of the country.
The
project’s plan is to encourage the people of Limón, through
a growing grassroots movement and an elaborate marketing
strategy, to embrace a framework of free market principles and
individual freedom. Limón REAL was conceived with three
objectives in mind. First, to develop the province and
maximize the material, intellectual and spiritual well-being
of the Limonenses. Second, to assist the Blacks, Indians,
Chinese and Mestizos of Limón in the full recovery of their
liberty, property, individual initiative and self-esteem.
Third, to show all Latin Americans not only that liberty is
morally correct, but that it works and that the application of
free market principles can transform even the poorest region
into an enclave of prosperity.
